Eagles Were So Desperate on Monday Night Football That Josh McCown Almost Played WR

The Philadelphia Eagles and their awful luck with injuries has been a total nightmare for the organization this season, especially at wide receiver. Alshon Jeffery was the latest to go down Monday night and the team was getting desperate for help on the outside.
Enter veteran journeyman quarterback Josh McCown?

That sure is something! McCown is a 40-year old quarterback and instead of calling on a defensive player to take a few snaps, he was next up to play receiver.
This may sound insane, but McCown has played WR before, though it came over a decade ago. Check out the highlights of a younger McCown surprising fans way back in the day with Detroit.
Eagles backup QB Josh McCown told me he was ready to play WR & was even switching out his QB helmet with communication to a WR helmet when Eagles were down to 1 WR. Wow

Josh played WR and caught some passes 13 years ago with Lions. Here is the video ?

McCown was likely up next in line over a defensive player because he knows all the offensive plays. A defender could be told what routes to run, but McCown is such a warrior he probably lobbied to get some time at receiver.
For the Eagles, they better hope they can get healthy at the position. If McCown indeed is forced to hit the field and try and catch passes from Carson Wentz, the outcome could prove to be a disaster.
