Earl Thomas Responds to Colin Cowherd's Uncalled for Insult on Instagram
By Jerry Trotta
On Thursday, FOX Sports pundit Colin Cowherd defended Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson for his place on the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 2010s. For the most part, "The Herd" host made valid points, including that the Seahawks had the second-most playoff wins in the NFL over those 10 years, and that Wilson is the player most individually responsible for that success.
To close out his point, however, Cowherd took a brash shot at Earl Thomas' relationship with his brother. The clip has since gone viral, as most fans found it to be all kinds of entertaining. Thomas, naturally, was not one of those people.
The Baltimore Ravens safety and former Seahawk was recently involved in a salacious alleged altercation with his wife, Nina, who held a gun to his head after catching him cheating. Strangely enough, Thomas' brother was present at the scene as well.
To say that isn't a joking matter would be an understatement, and Thomas clapped back at Cowherd's ill-advised remark with a post on Instagram.
Lame is as good of a word as any to describe Cowherd's humor in this moment.
There was literally zero reason to bring up the domestic incident between Thomas and his wife here. Cowherd constructed a solid case to defend Wilson, whose greatness isn't nearly appreciated enough despite everything he's achieved. Flipping the narrative to crack wise is peak Cowherd, but even we didn't think he would stoop to that level here.
Thomas is human just like the rest of us, and he's surely made mistakes -- but he was right to rip into the FS1 loudmouth.
