Early-Season Criticism is Best Thing That Could've Happened to Vikings and Kirk Cousins
By Michael Luciano
In the first few weeks of the season, Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings offense looked like the worst Marty Schottenheimer teams of all time. It was "run-run-pass" that bored the daylights out of everyone as they struggled to even get past midfield and complete a pass.
After getting ripped by both Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs for his inability to throw deep, Cousins has been dominant, throwing ten touchdowns against just one pick in the last three weeks, including four touchdown passes in a win against the Detroit Lions.
For better or worse, the Vikings are married to Cousisn due to his contract. Rather than try to hide him out of some misplaced sense of fear, they've decided to live or die by Cousins and his arm, and he has responded.
His recent breakout hasn't harmed the production of Dalvin Cook either, as their star running back has five 100 yard games this year with eight rushing touchdowns.
Minnesota has always had a tough defense, but Cousins and Cook are finally starting to gel, and that should terrify the rest of the league.
