Ed Orgeron Takes Shot at Georgia When Talking About the Best Teams LSU Has Faced This Year
By Michael Luciano
Much was made about the fact No. 1 LSU beat five teams that were at the time ranked in the Top 10 on their way to a perfect season. The likes of Alabama and Auburn fell to the wayside against LSU, as did one SEC foe that Ed Orgeron doesn't want to give a ton of credit or adulation.
Oregon said that the three best teams LSU played this year were Alabama, Auburn and Florida, which meant Georgia didn't crack the Top 10.
Orgeron was named the AP and Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year after leading Joe Burrow to a Heisman-winning season and the Tigers to both a perfect 13-0 record and the No. 1 overall seed in the College Football Playoff.
Kirby Smart has led the Bulldogs to an SEC East title and another appearance in the Sugar Bowl, but his defense was carved up in every possible fashion by Burrow and LSU, and his latest defeat is starting to cause some real angst in Athens.
It seems that Smart constantly getting embarrassed in the biggest moments is eroding Georgia's reputation both in the SEC and on the national stage. Orgeron, meanwhile, is enjoying his best season yet at the expense of his conference foe.
