Ed Orgeron Wins College Football Coach of the Year After Dominant Season at LSU
By Michael Luciano

If you told someone from 10 years ago that Ed Orgeron, who was fired at Ole Miss after going 10-25 in three seasons, would win Coach of the Year behind a Heisman-winning quarterback at LSU, their heads would have exploded.
Coach O did just that, as his 13-0 season with the Tigers ended up bringing him the Home Depot Coach of the Year award.

Orgeron was a flop at Ole Miss, but has piled up a 38-9 record at LSU. With Joe Burrow and passing game coordinator Joe Brady putting up record-setting numbers, Orgeron's Bayou Bengals managed to beat five Top 10 teams, including Alabama, then Georgia in the SEC title game.
On the back of that undefeated season, Orgeron has led the Tigers to the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff, where they will face Oklahoma.
Ed Orgeron began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for Northwestern State, where he lived in a locker room, sleeping on a cot.

Orgeron was an odd hire when he first got the job after Les Miles was fired, but he has flipped this program around and deserves every single accolade thrown his way after this magical season.
