VIDEO: Ed Reed Goes in on Drew Brees in NSFW Message Over Colin Kaepernick Comments
By Mark Powell
Drew Brees has made far too many enemies for a Wednesday in the NFL offseason, but his ill-timed comment about Colin Kaepernick's peaceful protest, as well as others who may think of following in his footsteps, have rubbed plenty in the football community the wrong way. This includes Baltimore Ravens legend and NFL Hall of Famer Ed Reed, who did not mince words in his reaction to Brees' comments.
Reed's reaction is one of disappointment and disgust, as he feels let down by a figure who was supposed to be a pillar of togetherness in the NFL community. While Brees has made similar comments in the past, he had four years to learn from a mistake, and instead doubled down on it in the midst of some of the ugliest race relations in recent memory.
Reed is a Louisiana native, and his feelings on this issue should be as respected as any. Brees has yet to issue any sort of response to the backlash, but you can bet his PR team is in damage control mode.
