VIDEO: Ed Werder Makes it Sound Like Jerry Jones Hired Mike McCarthy to Be His Puppet
By Jerry Trotta

It goes without saying that Jerry Jones loves power and control over his head coaches, but the hiring of Mike McCarthy indicated that the Cowboys' owner might finally be adapting to the times. After all, prior to his appointment, the former Packers HC previously held no ties to Dallas. According to ESPN's Ed Werder, however, that appears to be anything but the case. Despite Cowboys fans clamoring for a change, Jones isn't quite ready to concede his role as the organization's puppet-master.

This topic had to be addressed during McCarthy's interview process, no? There's simply no way that the former Super Bowl champ would agree to take the job if Jones didn't mention that he would be breathing down his neck, right?
Who knows.
New Cowboys’ HC Mike McCarthy stayed over Jerry Jones’ house on Saturday night, per source. “Once you stay at Jerrry’s house, he doesn’t lose his guy,” said source.

What we do know is that Werder's claims won't sit well with Dallas devotees, who've been clamoring for Jones to yield some of his jurisdiction. It's not like McCarthy doesn't flaunt a proven NFL track record.
Only time will tell how long McCarthy is able to tolerate Jerry's shenanigans.
