Edgerrin James Reveals He's Been Elected to the Hall of Fame With Perfect Instagram Post
By Karl Rasmussen
Former Indianapolis Colts star running back Edgerrin James was one of the best at his position throughout most of the 2000s. Now, 11 years since he called it a career, James is being recognized with a well-earned election into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
James announced he'll be receiving his gold jacket via an Instagram post on Saturday. As his caption reads: "Started With Gold Teeth, Ended With a Gold Jacket."
Couldn't have said it any better, Edge.
James spent seven seasons with the Colts, making three Pro Bowls with the team and earning All-Pro honors as a rookie in 1999.
When healthy, there was hardly a better running back in football than the University of Miami product. Over his first two seasons, James racked up 3,262 yards and 26 rushing touchdowns alongside 125 receptions and nine receiving TDs. He was one of the most versatile running backs in the game in his time, and a relentless workhorse who never seemed to tire.
After leaving the Colts following the 2005 campaign, James departed for Arizona, where he strung together back-to-back seasons over 1,000 yards rushings.
Across his 11-year Hall of Fame career, James compiled 80 rushing touchdowns and more than 12,000 yards on the ground. He's more than earned that gold jacket.
