Edwin Diaz receives huge ovation at Citi Field on Friday

The trumpets are back at Citi Field and people were smiling from ear to ear. Edwin Diaz, one of the best closers in the game, may not be able to pitch this season for the Mets, but that doesn't mean people have forgotten about how much he means to this team.
On Friday, the Mets hosted the Marlins for a contest and Diaz was on hand on crutches after his serious injury suffered at the World Baseball Classic. In epic fashion, he made his way out onto the top of the dugout and he was showered with love and support from the fanbase.

That's great to see. Diaz is beloved all over Queens and that's not going to change just because he's out of action. We can't wait to see him back out on the bump, hopefully sooner than later.
