Dang, those 4-to-6 weeks really went by quickly, huh?

Checking in at basically the minimum on the ol' rehab clock, Edwin Encarnacion took advantage of the end of the minor league season, and appears to have declared his readiness.

The parrot got its cast removed in recent weeks, and now, he'll fly again. Edcarnacion will be batting fifth on Tuesday.

Combine that with Luke Voit's return, and the first base position, which was shredded by successive injuries in August, is back to full strength.

In the most 2019 Yankees story of all time, however, Mike Ford's slugging tendencies helped the Yanks carry through the absence of both established bats.

Encarnacion spent 36 games with the team throughout the summer, hitting nine homers, knocking in 27 runs, and finding his groove riiiiiiiight around the time the Red Sox drilled him with a pitch and delivered a chip fracture in the wrist.

With rosters expanded and a necessary emphasis on getting the team rested and ready for the postseason, expect Encarnacion to still get plenty of days off in favor of Ford or Clint Frazier. But for now, this is one glorious return.
