Eli Manning Had Perfect Reaction to Derek Jeter Not Being Unanimous Hall of Fame Selection
By Brendan Balsamo
Two New York athletes that were the face of sports in the Big Apple throughout much of the 2000's and early 2010's are once again dominating headlines this week.
On Wednesday, Eli Manning announced his plans to retire from the NFL, just one day after Derek Jeter narrowly missed out on becoming just the second-ever unanimous Baseball Hall of Famer.
Well, while addressing the media Friday, Manning commented on Jeter falling one vote short of being a unanimous entrant into the Hall, and his response to the topic was everything fans from New York would want to hear.
Much like the rest of us, Manning is dying to know which writer didn't vote for Jeter.
After the official Hall of Fame announcement, Twitter blew up in support of Jeter, with multiple athletes from various sports voicing their opinions on the matter. Manning is just the latest to offer his two cents.
With Eli hanging up the cleats after a 16-year career, his candidacy for Canton will be a hot topic of discussion. Unfortunately for the 39-year-old, he's not as much of a lock for the Hall of Fame as Jeter was.
