Errol Spence Jr. Hospitalized After Being Seriously Injured in Rollover Crash in Texas

The boxing world awoke this morning to the kind of awful news that makes you hold your breath and wish you had merely had a bad dream. Errol Spence Jr., one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world, has been hospitalized in Dallas after a serious automobile accident that occurred around 3 a.m. local time.
Reports indicate that Spence's Ferrari rolled over multiple times, and that he was ejected from the vehicle.
Dallas Police have not confirmed a cause for the accident as of this writing. In the meantime, Spence is receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Per CBS 11 News, the 29-year-old WBC and IBF welterweight champion is expected to survive his injuries.
Spence is not even two weeks removed from a his thrilling title unification bout against Shawn Porter. In what many analysts immediately called the fight of the year, the Desoto, Texas native weathered Porter's best effort, scoring a late knockdown and earning the win by split decision.
Today, however, boxing is the last thing on anyone's mind. We wish nothing but the very best for Errol Spence. Our thoughts are with him and his family at this truly scary time.
