Everything You Need to Know About MLB Field of Dreams Game Between the Yankees and White Sox
By Parker White
MLB has been doing its best to play regular season games in unique locations, including Williamsport, London and Japan, so it made a ton of sense to play a big league game at the location of one of the most iconic sports films, "Field of Dreams."
On Aug. 13, 2020, the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox will play a regular season contest just beyond the legendary corn field from the movie.
Field of Dreams Game Location
The game will be played in Dyersville, Iowa, where the movie set for "Field of Dreams" is located. MLB will build a temporary ballpark just beyond the iconic field from the movie.
Field of Dreams Game Tickets
Tickets for this event, which is labeled as a White Sox home game, are not available at this time. In the coming months, MLB will release ticket information for this game.
Field of Dreams Game TV Info
The game between these two teams out in Iowa is presented by GEICO and will be nationally broadcasted on FOX at 7:00 p.m. ET. next summer.
MLB Field of Dreams Ballpark
The temporary ballpark will seat 8,000 people, and construction of the stadium will begin in the coming days. This isn't unprecedented, as MLB built a 12,500 seat stadium on a golf course on the grounds of Fort Bragg for a game between the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves back in 2016.
The design of this ballpark will pay homage to Comiskey Park, where the White Sox played from 1910-1990. The right field wall will have windows, showing the cornfields and movie set beyond the park.
There will also be a pathway through a cornfield the fans will walk through to the stadium, giving fans another unique feeling before watching these two teams square off.
