VIDEO: Ex-Astros Pitcher Joe Musgrove's Response to 2017 Cheating Allegations is Pretty Embarrassing
By Sean Facey

The legitimacy of the Houston Astros' recent success was called into question after they were accused of stealing signs back in 2017. Naturally, current and former players have been under intense scrutiny for their involvement. One of those players is current Pirate Joe Musgrove, who produced arguably the most embarrassing answer possible to questions about the team's cheating.
Pirates pitcher Joe Musgrove was w/the 2017 Astros, hasn’t been contacted by MLB,didn’t c the rules violations that were alleged:“Everyone always accuses people of something-Everyone heard how we cheated-but no one sees the work we put in every day..to give ourselves an advantage” pic.twitter.com/rpUGi8e4BR

"Yeah, we did it...but we also...worked hard! Write about that!"
Saying, "Everyone hears how we cheated...but no one sees the work we put in every day," is just a pathetic answer on a multitude of levels.
Not only does it sounds a lot like he's calling out every other team as jealous, but it also is an immense cop out. He's basically trying to excuse any possible cheating by saying, "Hey, at least we still practiced!"
Is Joe Musgrove asking for people to . . . give the 2017 Astros credit for how hard they worked to set up their cheating scheme? https://t.co/0bxL4YPhPV

Read another way, it even sounds like he's asking for credit for the work they put into their cheating process!
The Astros seem to have gotten caught with their hands in the cookie jar, and now players like Musgrove are trying to cover their tracks with lame comments like these pointing the finger back at everyone else.
