Ex-Cowboys DB Kavon Frazier Calls Out Team for Disrespecting Current Backup With Andy Dalton Signing
By Adam Weinrib
Kavon Frazier flees to the Dolphins, and immediately he feels safe and secure enough to unleash an awfully strange take. Those are the rules these days, it seems.
When the Cowboys signed Andy Dalton late Saturday night, they secured their backup QB position with an exceptional veteran, creating likely the safest insurance policy in the game (and keeping Dalton, who lives in Dallas, at home). Perfect fit...right?
Per Frazier, he thinks the Cowboys didn't show enough faith in Cooper Rush, a backup on their current roster.
We've liked what we've seen from Rush during preseason action, too, but this take seems misguided.
First off, why wouldn't Rush want to learn from Dalton, a three-time Pro Bowler he'll now be able to share plenty more time with on the bench? Secondly, this strengthens every level of Dallas' fortress. Even if they believe in Rush (and, based on how long he's been rostered, it appears they do), why wouldn't they want to improve at the position? Rush is raw, young, and has plenty more time to develop, even if he's being slept on, at the moment.
That being said, Dez Bryant had the very same take.
Harder to argue with both men, we guess!
