Ex-Jaguars LB Telvin Smith Reportedly Handcuffed and Placed in Police Car at His Jacksonville Home
By Karl Rasmussen
Telvin Smith decided to take the season away from football for personal reasons, despite the 28-year-old coming off of one of the best statistical years of his career.
Well, he's back in headlines Wednesday night after the former Jaguar was reportedly led away from his Queen's Harbour home in handcuffs by police.
Per Vic Micolucci of WJXT, multiple neighbors claim that Smith was placed in handcuffs and escorted into a police car.
His car, a black Cadillac Escalade, was also reportedly towed away from his home, followed by a Jacksonville police car.
Micolucci reports there was heavy police presence outside the home of the former linebacker. A crime scene unit was also seen leaving the residency after conducting unspecified activity.
Tennika Smith Hughes of ActionNewsJax provided further photographs of the police activity at the former NFL player's home in Queen's Harbour.
Smith played college ball at Florida State where he amassed 214 tackles across four seasons, to go with 7.0 sacks and 29 tackles for loss.
He was the Jags' fifth-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, and featured in 76 games across five NFL seasons in Jacksonville. Smith made the Pro Bowl in 2017.
