After a much-talked-about senior season at Notre Dame built to an awards-season fever pitch (and tons of controversy), Manti Te'o played three serviceable years at linebacker with the Chargers before tapering off quite a bit in Year 4.

Two similarly up-and-down years as Saints property later, and he was officially out of football for the majority of 2019, a phenomenon that appears to have just been put to a stop.

Per sources in his native Hawaii, Te'o will be rejoining the Saints down the stretch as they surge towards a playoff berth.

Of course, Te'o's athletic tenure will forever be defined by the scandal that cropped up his senior year which debunked the story he'd long told about his deceased "girlfriend" who turned out to be a sham.

On the field, though, he built a reputation as a tackle machine before losing that momentum in an injury-plagued 2016. With Kiko Alonso moderately banged up in New Orleans' Thanksgiving night victory over the Falcons, perhaps the Saints are just looking for some increased depth at the LB position.

Regardless, we're approaching four pretty key games for a prove-it.
