Eye-Popping Stat Demonstrates Nick Saban's Special Dominance Among Active College Football Coaches
By Michael Luciano

Over the last decade, whenever you look at the college football AP Poll, there is a good chance that Nick Saban's well-oiled machine at Alabama once again rules the roost.
Saban has coached 80 games while his team was ranked No. 1 overall in the AP Poll, which equates to almost six full seasons worth of games. Second place on this list, among active coaches, is former LSU head coach and current Kansas commander Les Miles, who has just 14 games at that spot.

In other words, everyone else has a LONG way to go before they catch Saban. The only one in this entire list with a semi-realistic chance at getting close to Saban is Dabo Swinney, but even that seems unlikely.
For as much as Saban gets pigeon-holed as a gruff traditionalist, it's been his adaptability that has helped the Tide rule college football over the years. He seems to come out with a new defensive scheme every season, and he showed a willingness to deviate from his run-heavy offenses to let Tua Tagovailoa air it out. As a result, he set took home a national title in 2018.

While it's almost become trendy to declare that Alabama's next season will finally be the one wherein everything falls apart for Saban, his razor-sharp football mind will help keep Alabama competitive as long as he is in Tuscaloosa.
