Ezekiel Elliott Clearly Hasn't Learned a Thing After Latest Off-Field Incident
By James.r

Dallas Cowboys All-Pro running back Ezekiel Elliott claims he has matured, but his off-field actions continue to prove otherwise.
Just hours after Cowboys beat writer Jon Machota posted an article deeming Elliott "a vocal leader and the face of [the team]," video surfaced of the star running back being handcuffed for pushing a man to the ground at a Las Vegas music festival.

This incident is just the most recent in a long string of off-field missteps for Elliott.
In 2017, he was suspended for six games as a result of an NFL domestic violence investigation. That same year, the running back was involved in an altercation at a Dallas bar that sent one man to the hospital. In totality, Elliott appeared in four police reports between 2014 and 2017.

Elliott's continued inability to stay out of trouble illustrates that he is not ready to take on the duties of a team leader. He is unquestionably one of the most talented players in the NFL, and the Cowboys need him to be on the field.
Unfortunately, he cannot stop putting himself in precarious positions with the league office, even though it remains to be seen whether this incident will have any on-field ramifications.
Ezekiel Elliott shouldn’t get a big second contract because he’s a running back, not because he can’t seem to stay out of trouble. But not being able to stay out of trouble certainly doesn’t help, either.

Although 'Zeke was not arrested during this latest slip-up, it will undoubtedly raise questions about looming contract negotiations, as he is set to be an unrestricted free agent after the 2020 season.
In an age where running backs are seeing their value questioned, it remains to be seen whether the Cowboys will be willing to pay a hefty asking price for Zeke.
