Fake Steve Berthiaume Twitter Account Invited Random Guy and His Family Into DBacks Broadcast Booth
By Parker White
The play-by-play man for the Arizona Diamondbacks is Steve Berthiaume, and unlike a lot of public figures, he doesn't have a Twitter account. But that doesn't mean a fake account can't impersonate him and invite a random family come up to the broadcast booth in the middle of the game, though.
Yes, that's exactly what happened during Thursday's road game at Coors Field in Denver. Check out this Twitter exchange:
Always remember to look at the Twitter bio for everyone you follow, folks! You might be talking to someone that isn't even the real Steve Berthiaume and get invited to a place you actually weren't allowed to be.
Give Berthiaume and the rest of the Fox Sports Arizona team credit, as they handled this random intrusion -- that is, trespassing -- gracefully. They could've easily freaked out and had this family escorted away, but they instead allowed them stay and have a brief chat on live television.
Good thing it was merely a well-meaning family with a baby. In another place and another time, they could have been dealing with a bunch of psychos.
