VIDEO: Falcons Player's Celebration After 2nd Onside Kick is One of the Funniest You'll See
By Chris Russo
The Atlanta Falcons may have fallen to 3-9 on Thanksgiving night, but they had a lot of fun doing it -- especially after recovering an onside kick late. Look no further than Kenjon Barner.
After going down 26-9 to the New Orleans Saints in the fourth quarter, the Falcons came back to cut it to 26-18, recovering not one, not two, but three onside kicks -- one was called back due to a penalty -- in the process.
Barner went down all the way down to the trenches to celebrate the second successful kick. And fair play to him!
Barner just comes flying in as if they just won the ballgame. It was obviously premature, but you have to give him credit. If you can enjoy yourself with a team about to go 3-9 despite high expectations, then you are about as high on yourself as anybody.
The Falcons are just about ready to pack it in this season, but they stood up to the now three-time defending NFC South Champion Saints and nearly pulled off the upset, even in a deep hole late. The Falcons are clos to being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs this year, but at least they still have a lot of heart (and a lot of fun).
