This Falcons-Lions Draft Day Blockbuster Trade Could Land Atlanta No. 3 Overall Pick
By Michael Luciano

The Atlanta Falcons have some serious holes in the team's secondary, and GM Thomas Dimitroff apparently doesn't think that sitting at pick No. 16 will allow them to pick a cornerback or safety that could change the defense.
According to Chris Mortensen, the Falcons are expected to move up in the draft, with some speculating they could trade with a team like the Detroit Lions to end up in the top five.
#Falcons are expected to be the most aggressive team in the draft, per @mortreport, and they could make a strong effort to move into the top 5. The #Falcons have pick No. 16.

Multiple first-round picks will need to swap hands to get this deal done, so Atlanta has to part ways with pick No. 16 as well as a 2021 first-rounder to Detroit. In addition, watch for a second-round pick in either this year's draft or the next head to Detroit. Additional compensation, like a late-round pick, might need to be sent the other way, but it's not instrumental in getting a deal done.
The Lions are widely expected to take Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah with their No. 3 selection, and he could be the potential superstar that Dimitroff and head coach Dan Quinn think can change the entire defense. Perhaps Atlanta goes with Isaiah Simmons, who can do a little bit of everything.
Detroit, meanwhile, gets an armada of premium picks to rebuild this tattered mess of a roster.
No school is better at developing NFL DBs than Ohio State.

The Falcons need to be really sure that whatever prospect they have their eyes set on is going to be a transformative talent because it won't be cheap to move up from No. 16 to No. 3.
