Fan at Warriors-Raptors Game 6 Claims Police Are Lying About Controversial Incident With Masai Ujiri
By Michael Luciano
Just hours after his Toronto Raptors were crowned 2019 NBA champions, president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri was under investigation after allegedly striking a police officer. The officer in question claims Ujiri struck him after he didn't present a valid credential when trying to enter the court for the Raptors' postgame celebration.
However, a season ticket holder who was located next to Ujiri claims parts of that story could be fabricated, as he attests that Ujiri never placed his hands on an officer or was asked for any sort of credential. Furthermore, he implies that Alameda County police are trying to cover up for the officer's irresponsible behavior.
This is certainly an interesting development, as video and photo evidence would further support Wiener's bold cover-up claim and exonerate Ujiri.
The incident in question was caught on video, in which Ujiri can be spotted holding his credential. He was also photographed next to Kyle Lowry with a credential. That would nullify Alameda County's recollection of the events, which stated that Ujiri shoved the officer in question twice after he failed to produce a credential.
While Ujiri is still technically being investigated, and the opinion of one witness isn't enough for complete exoneration at this juncture, this is certainly a controversial development that could create a very messy situation.
