Fan Pays Absurd Amount for Pair of First-Row Super Bowl Tickets on Chiefs Sideline
By Will Coleman

When the Super Bowl comes around every year, it becomes increasingly relevant that the ultimate viewing experience is from the couch at home on the big screen because of expensive ticket costs. But why do ticket prices keep jumping if everyone's watching from home?
Some fans are willing to pay whatever it takes to watch their team suit up in the Super Bowl. This year's matchup calls for that more than ever. The 49ers have a loyal fanbase and haven't made it back since losing in 2013, but the Chiefs haven't made the Super Bowl since 1970. Some fan just spent $34,805 on a pair of front-row seats at the 20-yard line on the Chiefs sideline.
JUST IN: A fan has paid $34,805 on @TickPick (no fees) for two first-row Super Bowl tickets on the 20-yard line on the Chiefs side ($17,402.50 each).

I get it: If you're going to buy Super Bowl tickets, you may as well ball out and be as close to your team's sideline as you can get. Given the price, we hope this is a Chiefs fan.
With the intriguing matchup and the way ticket sales have been initially, this Super Bowl could be one of the most expensive in recent memory.
With ticket prices soaring, this could be the most expensive Super Bowl ever. On the online ticket platform SeatGeek, the average resale price is currently $6,232, and the average price for tickets sold in the past 24 hours was even higher at $6,785. https://t.co/psaSzuwWGL

It would be criminal to have to fork up all that money and then sit through some lackluster 13-3 game. For all parties invested, let's hope that doesn't happen again.
