VIDEO: Fan Trolls Astros for Sign-Stealing by Yelling Directly Into Dugout During Rain Delay
By Mark Powell
It's going to be a long, long season for the Houston Astros. So far in Spring Training, Houston has been subject to boos from fans, creative signs and even retribution in the form of hit batsmen from opposing pitchers. We'll remind you casually that these games still don't count. One fan took things a step further during Houston's recent rain delay, yelling directly into the dugout to get his point across.
While one Astros staffer did respond by stating the fan should continue paying for games they're involved in, the majority of the team ignored the call-outs, despite an honest attempt to get them involved.
The Astros, in particular, are well-trained in negative feedback. Any response on their end would not be wise. From the fan perspective, we don't blame supporters of the other 29 MLB fans from feeling cheated. It doesn't help that the Astros' punishment didn't fit the crime.
As much as the Astros would prefer this dies down, that's unlikely to happen anytime soon.
