Fans Hit Michigan Where it Hurts in Twitter Replies to Embarrassing Final Score Post vs Ohio State
By Jerry Trotta
College football fans held out a little hope that Michigan, in Ann Arbor, would be able to put up a fight against Ohio State on Saturday.
Deep down, however, they probably assumed the Buckeyes would roll to complete an undefeated regular season, and that's exactly what happened as the Wolverines fell at home to the tune of a 56-27 undressing.
After the game, Michigan fans did not hold back on Twitter, especially in the comments of the football program's official account after it posted the humiliating final score.
To get things started, let's acknowledge the wisdom of one particular tweeter who accurately forecasted the hostility that would ensue in the comment section.
As are we, @nuttinbutterz, as are we.
Perhaps the individual behind the account is just looking to cope with fellow tweeters about the fact that Michigan has dropped their last EIGHT games to the Buckeyes.
Why else would you feel the need to remind fans that their squad lost 56-27 to their most hated rival?
It was inevitable, but one enraged fan flexed his GIF game to convey the notion that he wants defensive coordinator Don Brown, whose side coughed up a 50-burger on Saturday, to be axed yesterday.
A little vulgar, but we understand where you're coming from.
And what would trolling Michigan be without digging up an ageless Jim Harbaugh meme?
Ohio State. Ohio State definitely has it better than you. That was an easy one, Jim.
It was always expected that the Buckeyes would win, but did we really expect the Wolverines to lay this significant of an egg at home? We get that expectations in big games under Jim Harbaugh are low, but...
Last up we have the most identifiable post of the bunch that perfectly summarizes Michigan's recent shortcomings in "The Game."
There you have it, folks.
Given how the game unfolded, it's not at all farfetched to say that we were more entertained opening our Twitter apps to witness the social media world lambaste Michigan.
