Fans in Open Revolt Against Owners of Buccaneers and Manchester United

Manchester United fans are not used to under-achieving, but that's exactly what the England Premier League juggernauts have increasingly been at risk of doing since being purchased by Malcolm Glazer and family.

The Glazers, who also own the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have drawn the ire of both fan bases in recent years as their debt issues have piled up and they've made some questionable ethical decisions in the process. Now, Man United fans have started a movement to push the Glazers out of ownership, starting a #GlazersOut trend on Twitter.

Manchester United, a club that has won the Premier League title a record 13 times, suddenly won the league since 2013, and has recently been outclassed by their crosstown rivals Manchester City. This season, the team finished a disappointing sixth in the Premier League table, with City lifting the trophy for the second straight year to go along with FA Cup and EFL Cup titles.

And, of course, the Buccaneers have been an afterthought for years. They haven't made the playoffs since 2007, while each other member of the NFC South has made the Super Bowl since then.

This has prompted questions from restless fans about the Glazers' financial viability as owners in arguably the two most demanding leagues in global sports.

All told, Buccaneers and United fans being this angry about going so long without any glory strong resemblance to the way Yankees fans act when they miss the playoffs. The Glazers may be bad owners, but come on –– plenty of sports fans have had it worse.
