Final NFL Pro Bowl Voting Results Revealed
By Jerry Trotta
The fans have spoken, and it appears there is a universal understanding of what NFL player has mesmerized them the most in 2019.
Lamar Jackson, to nobody's surprise, received the most Pro Bowl votes, and it wasn't even close.
The Ravens' superstar raked in 704,699 votes in the finalized tally, a whopping 164,931 more than Russell Wilson's 539,768 second-place tally. Patrick Mahomes finished third in the polls with 468,838 votes.
As Ian Rapoport notes, fan voting only counts for one-third of the equation as it pertains to determining the final Pro Bowl rosters. Of course, coach and player voting also has to be accounted for.
The final rosters won't be announced until Tuesday evening, but we're pretty sure that you can bank on the coaches and players also agreed on Baltimore's signal caller.
The Louisville product has set the league on fire in his sophomore campaign , setting a new record for rushing yards by a QB with 1,103 on the season. He also leads the NFL with 33 passing touchdowns.
Elsewhere, Dalvin Cook received the No.1 spot in the NFC running back vote in a surprise upset over Christian McCaffrey, who leads the league in scrimmage yards thus far. Cook's battling a shoulder injury, leaving his status up in the air going forward.
In a neat nugget, brothers Joey and Nick Bosa led the way for the top defensive ends in both the AFC and NFC.
For the most part, fan voting went as expected. However, stay tuned for Tuesday's revelation to see if the players and coaches agree with their evaluation of Pro Bowl-worthy stars.
