VIDEO: Celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Cowboys-Packers 'Dez Caught it' Game
Dez still thinks he caught it. To hear the former Cowboys receiver tell it, the referees were the main reason he doesn't have any Super Bowl experience to his name. Aaron Rodgers has had Dallas' number in playoff games for years, but Dez Bryant fans and the Cowboys faithful at large will argue to their deaths that it was not the Packers, but the guys in striped black and white who played the most defense in their 2015 NFC Divisional Round matchup with Green Bay. Today marks the five-year anniversary of the infamous play that would come to be known by Cowboys fans simply as "Dez caught it."
Did he catch it or not? Dez supporters argue that he brought in and secured Tony Romo's pass before losing the ball in a "football move" as he extended toward the endzone. Naysayers insist that he never had full possession, and that it was the ground -- not Dez himself -- that caused the ball to leave his hands.
What is true is this: Cowboys would win a playoff game after this moment until 2018, the season after they released an injury-riddled Bryant. Despite multiple Pro Bowl selections, it's this play alone that has become synonymous with his career, and that likely still haunts him in his weaker moments.
So what do you think? Did Dez really catch it? The issue will almost certainly never be settled.
