Florida State Hires Bruce Warwick Away From Sean McVay's Rams Coaching Staff
It took just over a season and a half for Florida State to part ways with former head coach Willie Taggart. After missing their first bowl game last year since the Bobby Bowden era in 1981, and subsequently beginning the 2019 campaign with a 4-5 record, Taggart (along with $20 million in buyouts) was let go by athletic director David Coburn.
Enter the Mike Norvell era, and while the Seminoles have yet to see how their newest partnership will play out on the field, they're making significant changes to their off-field personnel in efforts to right the ship in Tallahassee. The team just announced the hiring of a new Chief of staff, Bruce Warwick, Saturday morning.
Warwick had most recently served as Director of Operations for the Los Angeles Rams from 2016-2019, previously reporting as an assistant to the head coach during the team's tenure in St. Louis.
He was an integral part of their Super Bowl run in 2019 according to Rams coach Sean McVay. He was directly involved with coordination for the team's move from St. Louis to LA, including building four team facilities in their new city, and two additional business sites.
"I’m pleased to announce the addition of Bruce Warwick to the Florida State football family as our chief of staff,” Norvell stated earlier. “It’s been a top priority to attract championship-level personnel to impact our program not only on the field but off of it as well, and I feel like I have hit a home run with Bruce."
