VIDEO: Terrifying Footage of Bashaud Breeland's Arrest Surfaces
By Jerry Trotta
Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland was arrested on several charges on Tuesday in South Carolina. The initial details were already alarming, but the police report made things all the more serious. Per the report, Breeland resisted arrest, and at one point shoved the police officer that was trying to detain him. After numerous failed attempts, the 28-year-old managed to get back inside his vehicle, as the officer drew his gun on him. Footage of the arrest was recently obtained by TMZ, and it is absolutely terrifying, as it shows that this confrontation was seconds away from becoming unbelievably tragic.
Thank goodness that Breeland finally adhered to the officer's orders. The Chiefs DB egged the cop on before he decided it was time to take action. It's impossible for us to determine the necessity of the officer's actions, but this truly did escalate quickly.
The Clemson product was booked for marijuana possession, driving with an open container of alcohol, resisting arrest, and driving with a suspended license.
This was a disturbing encounter, to say the least, and we're relieved that Breeland walked away unscathed. You'd have to think that his future with Kansas City is in serious jeopardy.
