VIDEO: Footage Emerges of Aaron Goldhammer and Tony Rizzo Reacting to Tony Grossi's Baker Mayfield Comment
By Michael Luciano
Tony Grossi finally flew too close to the sun, as the 5-7 radio talking head's decision to call 6-1 Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield a "f---ing midget" has earned him a well-deserved suspension. Aaron Goldhammer and Tony Rizzo, two of Cleveland's most respected voices in sports talk radio, happened to be on the horn with Grossi when he stuck his foot in his mouth, and were left totally stunned with his latest comments.
Grossi, a man who once claimed that the Browns hiring Kevin Stefanski has head coach would "go over well in the ethnic neighborhoods" (shoutout to Cleveland's Polish communities!) found out that he was suspended in the middle of a press conference, and he darted out of the room before he was able to even interview Stefanski or GM Andrew Berry.
ESPN Cleveland released a statement confirming that Grossi won't be returning to the air for the immediate future, saying that they "will not tolerate derogatory language that demeans others or groups of people."
Grossi has frequently found himself in the crosshairs of Browns fans for his unmatched ability to pop off a controversial comment without even thinking, but it appears that his mouth has finally become too much of a hassle for ESPN to allow on the radio. Hopefully his latest suspension gives Grossi major pause.
