Former 5-Star LB Eyabi Anoma Enters Transfer Portal and Will Depart Alabama
By Parker White

It was first reported at the end of last week that Alabama linebacker Eyabi Anoma was not enrolled in classes for what would have been the fall semester of his sophomore academic year, which meant he wouldn't be able to practice with the team ahead of the imminent college football season.
That was a clear signal that Anoma's days with the Crimson Tide were numbered, and now, the former 5-star backer has been confirmed to have entered the transfer portal. He's got one foot out of Tuscaloosa and is looking for a new start elsewhere.

Anoma was suspended by the school over the summer, but his decision to transfer reportedly is not directly related. The Baltimore native's absence will be felt, as the kid was Bama's highest-rated player from the 2018 recruiting class according to numerous recruiting evaluators, and stood as 247Sports' No. 4 overall prospect in the nation for that cycle.

Anoma did participate in spring practice and was opening the eyes of his teammates as he worked his way into the rotation. But even though it appeared that he might have a big time role on this defense one day, Nick Saban and Co. will have to face a new reality. The sincere hope around college football is that this kid can find the right landing spot and get on a path to living up to his dazzling potential.
