Former MLB All-Star Tony Fernandez Reportedly in Critical Condition Once More Due to Kidney Issue

An update regarding the health of former five-time All-Star shortstop Tony Fernandez has arrived, and it is sure to unsettle the MLB community.
Back in 2017, Fernandez revealed that he was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. His admirable fight continues, but the latest development has seen him fall into critical condition due to complications from the disease, per league insider Hector Gomez.

Rumors are swirling that suggest the Toronto Blue Jays legend has been placed into a medically-induced coma, but we cannot confirm such a thing at this time.
It's worth noting that Fernandez was said to be in critical condition back in 2017 and ultimately took the necessary strides to be discharged from hospital care, so we can at least be reassured in knowing that he's overcome daunting predicaments before.

Fernandez retired in 2001 with four Gold Gloves and a 1993 World Series title to his name. He notably hit for the cycle in 1995 as a member of the Yankees.
