Former Bucs RB Michael Pittman 'Asking for Prayers' as Family Member in Coma Battling Coronavirus

No matter your personal beliefs, it's clear the threat of coronavirus is real, and that is why the sports and entertainment industries are essentially shutting down.
It is easy for people to complain over the inconvenience and try to downplay what has been deemed a pandemic until it affects someone you love, as it has for former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Michael Pittman.
He shared news with ESPN reporter Jenna Laine that will hopefully show some people how serious this virus can be.
Former Bucs RB Michael Pittman is asking for prayers right now. With his blessing, I am posting that a family member of his contracted the coronavirus, has been in the hospital since last Thursday and is now in a coma and in critical condition. He said they need a miracle.

At great strain to Pittman himself, the Bucs 'back disclosed that a member of his family has coronavirus and is in critical condition. Clearly, this disease is something anyone can get.
...So if you believe in prayer, please join me in praying for Michael Pittman and his family, while also respecting his and his family’s privacy. They need all the healing vibes they can get. He also wanted me to post this to increase awareness about the dangers of coronavirus.

Pittman was an important piece on the 2002 Buccaneers team that won the Super Bowl, and his message should carry some weight. He decided to share this news during what is obviously a tough time. Hopefully, those doubting the seriousness of this virus will listen to what Pittman had to say about preparedness, while also keeping him and his family in their thoughts.
