Former Chiefs Head Coach Todd Haley Pleads With Twitter for a Blue Checkmark
By Sam Dunn

Todd Haley, best known as the former head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs and offensive coordinator of the Pittsburgh Steelers, is a known quantity in NFL circles. He's currently working in the high school ranks and serving as an analyst on SiriusXM Radio, so it's not like he's completely fallen off the map -- but don't tell that to the powers that be at Twitter.
No, acording to @Jack and Co., "THE Todd Haley" is merely "a Todd Haley." His account doesn't even have the all-important blue checkmark. And he wants to know why.
Can I just get verified ????

Seriously, what more does a man have to do to get verified around here? Sure, he didn't create his Twitter account until January of this year, but this is a guy who coached in the NFL non-stop from 1995 to 2018 for seven different teams. In 2010, he even led the Chiefs to an AFC West title. This is a man who grew up in football as the son of Dick Haley, a longtime executive who oversaw four Super Bowl titles as a member of the Steelers' front office.
But clearly, he hasn't quite done enough.
F’ing kickers!

Well, I mean, there's that.
Allow me, an unverified nobody on the fringes of the internet sports conversation, to declare that the blue checkmark isn't the end-all. While it does serve the productive purpose of distinguishing real, authentic public figures from any number of potential imposters, it's not instant credibility in itself. Rather, that's the kind of thing that's forged over time through some good old labor.
Keep trying, Todd. You'll get there one day. Until then, hey, cool, you're just like me!
