Former Chiefs Safety Eric Berry Plans to Play in 2020 After Taking off This Past Season

Eric Berry signed a huge contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017. Then the injuries hit Berry hard and he only appeared in three games between 2017 and 2018.
The five-time Pro-Bowler was released last offseason and decided to take the 2019 season off to fully heal from his various ailments. Many thought that may have signaled the end of his successful career, but Berry is reportedly gearing up to return to the NFL in 2020.
Per @gmfb , Eric Berry took a year off from football and plans to play in 2020.

Berry took the year off after dealing with both an Achilles tear and a significant heel injury. He did return at the end of the 2018 season, but the Chiefs chose to move on without him once the year concluded.

Berry is a Chiefs legend and serves as an inspiration following his battle with cancer. A reunion in 2020 would make for a great story.
However, a veteran safety of Berry's caliber, assuming he's fully healthy, will garner interest from many teams.
