Chase Brice was rarely on the field over the last two seasons, but he still had a reputation as one of the finest backup quarterbacks in all of college football. However, after watching Trevor Lawrence make the national championship game in two straight years and seeing DJ Uiagalelei commit to Clemson, Brice is leaving in search of playing time.

Brice announced that he is transferring his intent to transfer from Clemson, and now he's reportedly picked a landing spot. Per Bruce Feldman, Brice will remain in the ACC, having signed a financial aid agreement to enroll at Duke.

Brice completed 60% of his passes at Clemson, throwing for nine touchdowns and four interceptions. He very rarely saw action with the Tigers due to the presence of Lawrence and Kelly Bryant over the last few years.

The Blue Devils only won five games last season as Quentin Harris struggled to replace New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. Brice has a better arm than Harris, which should help Duke get back to bowl eligibility.

The former Clemson gunslinger will have two years of eligibility remaining upon arriving on campus.

Brice has some nice moments in limited action behind Bryant and Lawrence, as he helped the Tigers avoid an upset against Syracuse in 2018 after Lawrence was injured. He's earned the right to chase a starting job and some NFL looks with David Cutcliffe in Durham.
