Former Cowboys Assistant Marc Colombo to Interview for Giants OL Coach Job
By Jerry Trotta
After the New York Giants hired Jason Garrett as their offensive coordinator, it became apparent that the organization would have to punt their interest in hiring Bill Callahan as their offensive line coach.
Well, on Monday, Callahan took the same position with the Cleveland Browns, and the G-Men are still on the hunt for a replacement for Hal Hunter.
Now, New York will reportedly turn to another former Cowboys OL coach. Per ESPN's Jordan Raanan, the Giants will interview Marc Colombo for the vacancy.
Colombo is a former first-round pick of the Chicago Bears back in 2002, and went on to play 10 seasons (five of which were with the Cowboys) in the NFL. He retired in 2011 before returning to Dallas as an OL assistant in 2016.
This isn't the first we heard of Garrett's former entourage in Dallas joining forces with him in East Rutherford. Jason Witten has recently been rumored to be considering a move to the Giants.
The Giants are also slated to bring in Dave DeGuglielmo, who actually began his coaching career with the organization as an assistant offensive line coach, for an interview on Tuesday. He also flaunts a previous connect to new HC Joe Judge, having previously coached alongside him in New England back in 2014.
Both Colombo and DeGuglielmo are qualified candidates, and we'll be keeping close tabs on their interview proceedings.
