Former Florida State Head Coach Willie Taggart Already Has Another Job and We're Speechless

Everything we thought we knew about being qualified for a head coaching job has officially been expunged after this piece of news.

College football insider Brett McMurphy has learned that Florida Atlantic is nearing an agreement that would make Willie Taggart their new head coach.

Of course, that opening lies in the wake of Lane Kiffin leaving Boca Raton for the HC position at Ole Miss.

The Owls clearly want to fill their vacancy as soon as possible but to say that we are shocked with this development is an understatement. Taggart was, of course, infamously canned by Florida State after less than two full seasons at the helm, during which he compiled a lousy 9-12 record.

Despite his woeful track record, Taggart has a job lined up -- in the Sunshine State again ironically enough -- hardly a month after being axed for failing miserably with the Seminoles.

While this is a good hire for a program like FAU, it's insane to even think Taggart, who has a 59-62 career head coaching record, just made millions on his buyout with FSU and is already working at an up-and-coming program.
