Former Laker Sasha Vujacic Working on Unlikely NBA Comeback
Former NBA guard Sasha Vujacic is working on a comeback, according to reports. Vujacic most recently played for the New York Knicks during the 2016-17 season.
The 10-year vet has been working out privately everyday in hopes of making an NBA roster this season. Will he be able to get the job done?
Vujacic burst into the league in 2004 with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he averaged 4.8 points in over 14 minutes per game throughout seven seasons. The guard has never been a volume scorer, but a return shouldn't be ruled out just yet.
Vujacic is a career 37% 3-point shooter, giving him a slim chance at a comeback. The NBA can never have enough shooters, and Vujacic fits that bill. Whether or not he gets into good enough shape to make a roster is a different question.
During his two-season tenure with the Knicks, Vujacic averaged 4.1 points in just under 13 minutes per game.
And if those stats don't convince you that Vujacic deserves another shot in the league, perhaps this highlight tape will. It won't be an easy comeback, but who knows, maybe someone gives him a chance.
