Former MLB Pitcher Kyle Lohse Calls Out Alex Bregman for Response to Astros Cheating Scandal
By Sam Dunn

The baseball world is still reeling from the fallout of the stunning sign-stealing scandal that has claimed the jobs of three managers and one GM as of this writing. The Houston Astros are at the epicenter of the debacle, and days after Major League Baseball administered its official punishments against the organization, a number of its players have begun to speak publicly. But in the case of Alex Bregman, the mission appears to be to say a lot of words without actually saying anything at all -- and that rubbed former MLB starting pitcher Kyle Lohse the wrong way. He took to Twitter to cry foul.
I know standing in front of the media and answering ?’s isn’t easy, but c’mon man. For someone who isn’t shy in front of the camera, this is weak. You were a part of it. Own it or at least have a better response than, “The commissioner...”. #astros https://t.co/rCqglA7yoc

Bregman is typically one of the most expressive, flamboyant players in the league. He's known for his flourishes, brash attitude, and choreographed dugout staredowns for the TV cameras. To see him this subdued is a bit jarring in itself. It should be a direct indication that something still ain't right.
And Lohse knows it.

Him calling out Justin Verlander as a hypocrite and flat out calling Altuve and Bregman cheaters is why he is the ?. This will be the best minute and 26 seconds of your life. pic.twitter.com/NKqpRQ5kLa
If anyone was going to speak with candor about this ongoing drama, it's Bregman. To see him so tight-lipped -- shy, perhaps -- and repeatedly deferential to the MLB's official account of what took place ought to leave a bad taste in our mouths.
