Former Packer TJ Lang Rips Bears TE Jimmy Graham Into Oblivion With Perfect Tweet
By Michael Luciano
The Chicago Bears stunned many when they signed tight end Jimmy Graham to a two-year deal after an objectively awful 2019 season, and former Green Bay Packers guard TJ Lang certainly ranks among the stunned.
In response to Graham's claim that the Bears have "the right plan" for him, Lang mocked the fact that Graham's blocking ability has been on the decline for some time now.
This comes from someone who knows!
Graham, who will turn 34 in November, caught 38 passes for 447 yards and three touchdowns despite being healthy and active for all 16 games in 2019.
Lang continued his onslaught on Twitter, claiming that Graham "can't do what tight ends are supposed to do anymore." Graham probably isn't going to get a Christmas card from Lang this year.
Tell us how you really feel, TJ.
Graham signed a $16 million deal with the Bears, a team that currently has NINE other tight ends on their roster. If Matt Nagy is suddenly expecting Graham to turn back the clock to his New Orleans Saints days, he is going to be in for quite the rude awakening.
Graham can still make some plays in the red zone when called upon, but he is a shell of himself in terms of stretching the field and blocking. Lang might be a bit on the harsh side with his critique, but he isn't exactly wrong.
