The XFL, a football league created to fill the void of no Spring football, had their inaugural game played on Saturday. Due to the publicity of the event, players who would still like to play professionally or are looking to showcase their talents have signed up to play. Therefore, there are many former NFL players who are on rosters in the XFL. Here are three former Patriots players you did not know are in the XFL.

3. Kony Ealy, DE, Houston Roughnecks

Kony Ealy bounced around the league during his four years in the NFL, being released by the Patriots before even playing a game with them. However, Ealy is still a relatively young player. At only 28 years old, he clearly still has a shot at returning to the NFL. Hopefully his stint with the Roughnecks should show teams what they are missing.

2. Anthony Johnson, LB, Los Angeles Wildcats

Another young player, Anthony Johnson is only 27 years old, but hasn't played in the NFL since the 2017-2018 season. Johnson only played 22 total games in the NFL over the course of his three year career with four different teams, including four games with the Patriots during the 2016-2017 season. Johnson is certainly betting on the fact that his play for the Wildcats provides a boost to his professional resume, ultimately helping him return to the NFL.

1. Steve Beauharnais, LB, St. Louis BattleHawks

Beauharnais hasn't played in the NFL since the 2014-2015 season.

Steve Beauharnais played two games for the Patriots all the way back in the 2013-2014 season, and only appeared in three games in the NFL since then. The 29-year-old linebacker may be a long shot to return to the NFL, but still loves the sport of football. He played with the Arizona Hotshots last season in the AAF, so he clearly still can play.
