The XFL is expected to reboot in 2020, and it looks like they just locked down their first player.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Landry Jones has reportedly signed a contract with the XFL, becoming the first player committed to the league.

Jones was reported to be working out for XFL teams after being cut by the Oakland Raiders in May. He had a short stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars last October and recently worked out for the Detroit Lions before turning heel for the XFL.

With the NFL being an absolute cash cow, it's hard to imagine the XFL as a legitimate competitor, despite striking a deal with ESPN and FOX. McMahon's first attempt at the XFL was a partnership with NBC executive Dick Ebersol that resulted in both parties losing $35 million.

With the league's first player inked to a deal, it's time to see how many more notable names opt to pursue a career in the XFL.

Jones was the Steelers' fourth-round pick in 2013. He has played in just 19 games throughout his career, five of which were starts. Jones is 108-for-169 with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions, going 3-2 as a starter and throwing for a total of 1,310 yards.
