Former Texas A&M Hoops Star David Edwards Passes Away After Contracting the Coronavirus
Tragic and heartbreaking news has arrived for the Texas A&M basketball family. On Tuesday morning, it was announced that former Aggies guard David Edwards, 49, had passed away.
A New York City resident, Edwards recently contracted the coronavirus, and lost his battle with the disease. Aggies Nation remains shocked over the news.
Edwards was a standout player for A&M from 1991-94. A Georgetown transfer, he appeared in 85 contests during his playing days. While donning a Texas A&M uniform, he posted 13.5 points and 7.1 assists per contest.
Former Texas A&M teammate Charles Henderson took to Facebook to let friends and family know of the devastating news. As you can see below, Henderson himself was quite emotional, and couldn't believe the update when he was informed of Edwards' passing.
Henderson is asking Aggies fans across the country to keep Edwards' family in your thoughts during this difficult time. It goes without saying, but Texas A&M as a whole is hurting right now.
