Former Twins and Yankees Pitcher Phil Hughes Has a Rational and Optimistic Take on MLB and We Hope He's Right
By Alexander Wolz
The MLB's season delay is becoming more embarrassing by the day. Things are reaching the point where the commissioner himself is losing confidence in the season. Yet, even with all the pointless drama, one has to believe players will take the field in 2020, in whatever capacity that may be.
Former Minnesota Twins and New York Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes offered his opinion on the ongoing matters. Hughes has faith in the MLB making a comeback, and we really hope he's right.
In the beginning, it was difficult to decide who exactly deserved the blame for the MLB's disagreements. Some felt it was the owners for attempting to rob the players of the money they deserved, while others yelled at the players for complaining as millionaires amid a global pandemic.
Now, the tides have turned to commissioner Rob Manfred. Many are frustrated with Manfred's poor leadership and lack of concern, which is affecting baseball's legacy.
Hughes is spot-on that the pressure is now on the owners and Manfred to clean up this mess.
