Remember retired MLB pitcher Kyle Farnsworth? The wild and crazy relief ace turns 44 years old today, but you might want to see what he's been up to in his life after baseball.

Farnsworth played for 11 teams over a 16-year stretch and was famously remembered for both his hulking size and thick glasses. You wouldn't have guessed it, but Farnsworth has been playing football in an amateur league in Florida for a while now – and he looks pretty different, to say the least.

Playing for the Orlando Phantoms of the Florida Football Alliance, Farnsworth has grown out a long beard to accompany his signature glasses on the turf. You'd have thought his pitching background would have led Farnsworth to play quarterback, but instead he's using his 6-4, 230-pound frame as a pass-rusher.

Ironically, Farnsworth is one of Orlando's more productive defensive players. He led the Phantoms in tackles and sacks a few seasons ago as the defense's oldest player. After thinking it over, it almost makes sense that Farnsworth ended up as a defensive end.

I never thought the day No. 44 turned 44 that I'd be watching his amateur football highlight reel, and yet here we are.
