FOX Interviewing Dave Martinez During Critical Moment of Game 3 is Actually Absurd

Was anybody else utterly astonished when Washington Nationals manager Dave Martinez was interviewed by Joe Buck and John Smotlz from FOX's broadcast booth in the top of the third inning of Game 3 on Friday night?

The Houston Astros were threatening with a runner on third base and no outs, and, for some reason, FOX's producers inexplicably decided to still run with the interview, thereby preventing Martinez from managing his team through a pivotal moment of the game.

The Boston Globe's Julian McWilliams sums it up quite perfectly, folks. Why not postpone the interview an inning or two later...or at least until Martinez isn't faced with a high-leverage situation?

His club is up 2-0 in the World Series for crying out loud. He's undoubtedly earned the right to adjourn a meaningless Q&A.

It's safe to say that baseball fans around the country were NOT pleased with FOX's selfish proceedings.

How about one more for good measure?

There was simply no feed for Martinez's scheduled interview to proceed as it did. The Nats skipper didn't even personify a quality interviewee because he was so centered on getting his squad out of the aforementioned jam!

MLB and FOX have some serious explaining to do.
