VIDEO: Frank Caliendo Doing John Madden and Pat Summerall Calling Patrick Mahomes' AFC Championship Run is Unreal
By Jerry Trotta
Patrick Mahomes' 27-yard touchdown scamper against the Tennessee Titans on the stroke of halftime of the AFC Championship Game was stuff of superheroes. It turned the NFL landscape upside down, as different incomprehensible angles began making the rounds on social media. Given its popularity, Kansas City Chiefs fans might have thought they had seen everything there is to see regarding the play. Well, they were wrong. Comedian Frank Caliendo released his own version of the play while mimicking the iconic broadcasting duo of John Madden and Pat Summerall, and it's astonishing.
Caliendo is perhaps more renowned in recent years for his impersonations of Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden, but the impressionist absolutely nailed his rendition of Summerall and Madden. We've all heard his Madden, but who among us has heard his Pat?! Iconic.
From the former's monotone approach, to the latter's unforgettable enthusiasm, Caliendo is spot on here. We didn't think it was possible, but Chiefs fans now have another reason to play Mahomes' heroics on a loop.
